8-iso-15-keto Prostaglandin E2 (8-iso-15-keto PGE2) is an isoprostane, a member of a large family of biomarkers produced by the free radical peroxidative degradation of membrane lipids. This compound is the putative first metabolite of the biologically active compound, 8-iso PGE2 (sc-205172)via the 15-hydroxy PGDH pathway. There are no published studies of the biological action of 8-iso-15-keto Prostaglandin E2, however, these prostaglandin analogues are integral for structure-activity studies used in the deconvolution of these complex biochemical pathways.
