QUICK LINKS

8-Bromo-cGMP is a cell-permeable cGMP analog with greater resistance to hydrolysis by phosphodiesterases than cGMP. The compound may act to preferentially activate cGKIalpha/beta (cGMP-dependent protein kinase). In human platelets, 8-Bromo-cGMP has been found to inhibit thrombin stimulated arachidonic acid release. 8-Bromo-cGMP is known to slow or inhibit intracellular calcium oscillations of tracheal smooth muscle cells in response to acetylcholine.
