6α-Methyl prednisolone 17-hemisuccinate, also known as Methylprednisolone 17-hemisuccinate (MPSH), is a derivative of prednisolone, belonging to the corticosteroid class, with a 17-hemisuccinate ester group attached. Functioning as an anti-inflammatory agent, it operates by impeding the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and other inflammation-inducing mediators. Moreover, it inhibits the generation of arachidonic acid, a precursor to pro-inflammatory mediators.
