QUICK LINKS

6-Methylpurine, a purine nucleoside analogue, has been employed to investigate the biochemical and physiological impacts of purines and their derivatives, as well as to explore the underlying biological mechanisms of these compounds. Acting as an antagonist, 6-Methylpurine binds to and blocks the activation of the purine receptor, a G-protein coupled receptor in numerous physiological processes. This interaction hinders the initiation of downstream signaling pathways associated with the receptor′s activation.
