4′-Hydroxy Diclofenac-13C6 is a labeled metabolite of the nonsteroidal Cox-2 (cyclooxygenase 2) inhibitor, Diclofenac. Studies suggest that 4′-Hydroxy Diclofenac-13C6 can be determined from solution by isocratic HPLC. In addition, it is believed that 4′-Hydroxy Diclofenac-13C6 can form adducts with proteins. It is thought that Diclofenac inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis in both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Alternate studies indicate that Diclofenac can inhibit lipoxygenase pathways which reduces leukotriene formation.
