The 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine structure supports N-oxyl radicals as in TEMPO (sc-255630), and 4-Oxo-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3-piperidinecarboxylic Acid Methyl Ester may also be useful in the preparation of N-oxyl radical compounds for spin trap and labeling experiments.
