4-IPP is an inhibitor of macrophage migration inhibitor factor (MIF). The mode of action relies on the inactivation of biological and catalytic MIF functions. In human lung adenocarcinoma cell lines, 4-IPP may act to inhibit independent migration and anchorage in vitro.
