4-Hydroxy Duloxetine (4-HD) is a major metabolite of Duloxetine. The potential effects of 4-Hydroxy Duloxetine on various biochemical and physiological processes have been the focus of numerous studies. Its modulation of the activity of various neurotransmitter receptors, such as serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine, has been established. 4-Hydroxy Duloxetine has also demonstrated a regulatory effect on the expression of genes that control mood, anxiety, and pain. Furthermore, it has been observed to inhibit the activity of enzymes involved in the metabolism of neurotransmitters, thereby leading to a possible increase in their concentration in the brain.
