4-Hydroxy-2,5,6-triaminopyrimidine sulfate salt is a derivatized pyrimidine compound that may act to act as an antioxidant similarly to tetrahydrofolate (THF) and 5-methyltetrahydrofolate. One study identified this compound as the pharmacophore, particularly citing the 5-amino group as being of major importance for the antioxidant activity. Furthermore, this compound has been used as an intermediate for synthetic organic chemistry. 6-Hydroxy-2,4,5-triaminopyrimidine sulfate is an inhibitor for specific enzymes, including tyrosine kinase. Its role involves attaching to the active site of the enzyme, thereby obstructing its interaction with its usual substrate.
