4-(Heptadecafluorooctyl)aniline, also known as 4-(Perfluorooctyl)aniline (PFOA), is a building block for the introduction of a 4-perfluoroalkylaryl moiety. It is used in a wide range of applications such as in the production of non-stick coatings, fire-fighting foams, and water-repellent coatings. It is also a persistent organic pollutant (POP). 4-(Heptadecafluorooctyl)aniline has been the subject of much research due to its potential health and environmental effects.
