QUICK LINKS

4-Bromoisophthalic acid is an inhibitor of glutamate decarboxylase. 4-Bromoisophthalic acid also inhibits bacterial enzyme carboxylesterase using a mechanism that involves hydrogen bonding interactions. The inhibition prevents the breakdown of 3-mercaptopropionic acid, which would otherwise inhibit Pparγ activation.
