4-Aminomethyl-2H-phthalazin-1-one (4-AM-1-P) is an aminomethylated compound with a variety of scientific research applications. For example, it has been used in the synthesis of other compounds, such as 4-amino-1-phthalazinones and 4-amino-1-phthalazinones-2-carboxylic acids. In addition, 4-Aminomethyl-2H-phthalazin-1-one has been employed in the study of its biochemical and physiological effects. It acts as an inhibitor of the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). COX-2 is involved in the production of prostaglandins, which are hormones involved in inflammation and other physiological processes.
