4,5-Dihydro-2-methoxy-1H-imidazole (MDHI) is a multifunctional label for use in proteomic studies. MDHI is lysine specific and by increasing the ionization of lysine terminated tryptic fragments it also increases the overall sequence coverage obtained in peptide mapping experiments. It has been used in peptide termini labeling to quantify and identify two differentially labeled states. It can be used after endoproteinase Lys-C digestion.
