3-O-Acetyl-β-boswellic acid shows antitumor and anti-inflammatory activities. 3-O-Acetyl-β-boswellic acid is a potent non-redox, non-competitive 5-LO (5-lipoxygenase) and Topo I (topoisomerase I) and Topo II (topoisomerase II) inhibitor leading to apoptosis. 3-O-Acetyl-β-boswellic acid is an inhibitor of Topo II α.
