3-Nitrophthalhydrazide (5-NO2-DHD) is a nitro-containing heterocyclic compound and a structural analog of phenytoin. Although the precise mechanism of action of 3-Nitrophthalhydrazideis not fully elucidated, it is believed to exert its effects through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), an enzyme involved in the production of inflammatory mediators. Furthermore, this compound has shown inhibitory activity against other enzymes implicated in the production of inflammatory mediators, such as lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1).
