SL-327は、MEK-1およびMEK-2の選択的阻害剤として作用する細胞透過性のビニログシアンアミドである（それぞれIC50=0.18および0.22μM）。この化合物は、MAPK/ERKカスケードの阻害を介して海馬のLTPを阻害し、CREBとElk-1のリン酸化、およびLTP依存的な遺伝子誘導を阻害し、その結果、LTPが急速に減衰すると考えられるが、ATPに対しては非競合的である。 SL-327は、高濃度で使用した場合、ERK1、MEK-3/p38、MEK-4、JNK、PKCの活性を阻害することも示されている。
