20-trifluoro Leukotriene B4 (20CF3-LTB4) is a leukotriene B4 (sc-201043) analog that contains equipotent chemoattractant capabilities and can resist ω-oxidation. Studies show that 20CF3-LTB4 can induce neutrophil desensitization to degranulation by leukotriene B4. 20CF3-LTB4 and other leukotrienes are reported to be potent eicosanoid lipid mediators derived from arachidonic acid. Most leukotrienes are involved in inflammatory responses and homeostatic biological functions. Further studies suggest that leukotrienes act via interaction with G protein-coupled receptors.
