20-COOH-LTB4 is an omega-oxidized metabolite of leukotriene B4 (sc-201043). Leukotrienes have been shown to be potent eicosanoid lipid mediators derived from phospholipase-released Arachidonic Acid (sc-200770). These compounds have been reported to be involved in inflammation and numerous homeostatic biological functions. In rat hepatocytes, 20-COOH-LTB4 is noted to be a substrate for beta-oxidation pathways found in peroxisomes and mitochondria.
