QUICK LINKS

2-Methyl-2-thiazoline is a Meyers reagent for aldehyde synthesis. 2-Methyl-2-thiazoline is an odorless, colorless liquid that readily evaporates and carries a pleasant, mild scent. It is used in the production of resins and pesticides. 2-Methyl-2-thiazoline exhibits the capacity to induce DNA damage by engaging chloride ions to generate reactive substances that can interact with DNA bases. Furthermore, these reactive species possess the ability to bind with metal ions, including iron and copper, which are abundant within cells during episodes of oxidative stress.
