QUICK LINKS

2-Hydroxyanthraquinone is an inorganic acid employed in the production of sodium hydroxide. It exhibits antitumor activity by reacting with nucleophiles, particularly hydroxyl groups on DNA, thereby impeding the cell′s protein synthesis capability. Moreover, 2-Hydroxyanthraquinone inhibits the growth of MDA-MB-231 cells through interference with the transfer mechanism of nucleic acids necessary for protein synthesis.
