2-Heptenoic acid, also known as 2-heptenoate or enanthic acid, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C7H12O2. It is a carboxylic acid characterized by a seven-carbon chain with a double bond between the second and third carbon atoms. 2-Heptenoic acid can exist as geometric isomers, namely cis-2-heptenoic acid and trans-2-heptenoic acid, depending on the orientation of the double bond.
