QUICK LINKS

2-Deoxy-2-fluoro-L-fucose is a monosaccharide that can be metabolised inside the cell to a substrate-based inhibitor of fucosyltransferases. It can also be converted to GDP-2-deoxy-2-fluoro-L-fucose, a competitive inhibitor of α-1,3-fucosyltransferase. Since 2-Deoxy-2-fluoro-L-fucose reduces fucosylation of IgG in antibodies, it therefore increases therapeutic efficacies of antibodies that cause antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. 2-Deoxy-2-fluoro-L-fucose is also known as 2FF, and 2,6-dideoxy-2-fluoro-L-galactose.
