QUICK LINKS

2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl α-D-maltotrioside serves as a colorimetric substrate to assess α-amylase activity. The enzymatic hydrolysis of this compound generates 2-chloro-4-nitrophenol, which can be detected at 405 nm through colorimetric means. By measuring the release of 2-chloro-4-nitrophenol, the enzyme activity can be determined. This compound has been employed to study the functionality of human pancreatic or salivary amylase.
