QUICK LINKS

2-Bromohexadecanoic acid is a PPARδ agonist that has also been shown to inhibit fatty acid oxidation, inhibit DHHC-mediated palmitoylation. 2-Bromohexadecanoic acid functions as an enzyme inhibitor by binding to the active sites of enzymes, thereby obstructing their catalytic activity. This inhibitory effect is attributed to the bromine atom present in the compound, which exhibits a heightened affinity for the enzyme′s active site when compared to other fatty acids.
