2-Amino-5(6)-benzoylbenzimidazole is a novel heterocyclic NF-B inhibitor used in pharmaceutical compositions. It belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzophenones, which contain a ketone attached to two phenyl groups. 2-Amino-5(6)-benzoylbenzimidazole is considered practically insoluble (in water) and a relatively neutral molecule. It has been found in human liver and kidney tissues, and in multiple biofluids, such as urine and blood. Within the cell, it is primarily located in the cytoplasm and membrane (predicted from logP).
