2-amino-1-(4-fluorophenyl)ethanol (2-AEPE) is used as a ligand in organometallic chemistry, as a reagent in the synthesis of other organic compounds, and as a catalyst in the synthesis of polymers. It acts as a chelating agent, meaning that it binds to metal ions and forms a stable complex. This binding of metal ions can be used to facilitate a variety of chemical reactions.
