2-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenoxy]Propanoic Acid is a powerful and selective antagonist of the GABAB receptor, a receptor type present in the brain and other tissues. Acting as a competitive antagonist, it targets the GABAB receptor, which is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). When GABA binds to the GABAB receptor, downstream signaling pathways are activated, ultimately inhibiting neurotransmitter release and neuronal excitability. By binding to the same site on the GABAB receptor as GABA, this compound prevents GABA′s activation, leading to the inhibition of downstream signaling pathways.
