QUICK LINKS

2,4-Dimethyl-1-pentene is an aliphatic hydrocarbon compound that is widely used in the production of polymers, resins, and other products. It is also employed in the synthesis of pesticides and other organic compounds. In biochemistry and molecular biology, it is used to study the structure and function of proteins, enzymes, and other molecules. 2,4-Dimethyl-1-pentene interacts with proteins and enzymes via hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions. It binds to these molecules at the active site, allowing them to interact with other molecules and catalyze reactions. Studies have found anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-tumor, antioxidant, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties of this chemical.
