2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl-2,4,6,8-tetravinylcyclotetrasiloxane (TMTVCT) is a synthetic polymer that is widely used in a variety of applications, including biomedical and pharmaceutical research, as well as in the production of polymeric materials. It is a polysiloxane, which is a type of polymeric material composed of repeating units of siloxane. The mechanism of action of 2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl-2,4,6,8-tetravinylcyclotetrasiloxane is based on its ability to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules or compounds such as proteins or DNA. This is due to the presence of two vinyl (CH=CH2) groups at each end of the chain. In vitro studies have shown that 2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl-2,4,6,8-tetravinylcyclotetrasiloxane can increase the permeability of cell membranes.
