QUICK LINKS

2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-chromanol, a derivative of caffeic acid, has demonstrated the ability to inhibit the growth of HL-60 cells. It can also inhibit certain enzymes, including p-hydroxybenzoic acid related to cholesterol creation, and ester hydrochloride essential for bile acid production. Additionally, it exhibits antioxidant and fluorescence properties, making it useful for DNA structure research. In chemiluminescence tests, 2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-chromanol can serve as a substitute for pyridine hydrochloride or 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine hydrochloride, as it doesn′t disrupt the reaction.
