2,2,2-Tribromoethanol is an organic compound used to anesthetize mice. 2,2,2-Tribromoethanol is an ideal compound for Anesthesia because it functions deep and rapidly in mice and the recovery time is faster than other compounds. In addition, complementary chemicals can be added to the mouse with any major interactions. Studies indicate that 2,2,2-Tribromoethanol anesthetize mice within 5 minutes of injection and lasts about 25 minutes. This compound is thus an ideal tool during bilateral embryo transfers. Furthermore, the animals are mobile after 80-100 minutes following initial injection.
