15(S)-15-methyl PGE2 is a metabolically stable, potent analog of PGE2 (sc-210225), that has demonstrated potent gastric anti-secretory activities. This compound has been shown to bind to human myometrium with twice the affinity of PGE2 and is ten times more potent than PGE1(sc-201223) in contracting uterine smooth muscle. Also shown to dose-dependently inhibit gastric acid secretion and increase the total output, and rate of output of duodenal bicarbonate secretion.
