1,7-Dimethylxanthine-d6 (dimethyl-d6) is a labeled form of 1,7-Dimethylxanthine also known as Paraxanthine (sc-212526), which functions as a PARP-1 inhibitor in pulmonary epithelial cells. It is known that 1,7-Dimethylxanthine-d6 (dimethyl-d6) is structurally similar to caffeine (sc-202514) and possibly mediates the physiological effects of caffeine. Studies suggest that 1,7-Dimethylxanthine-d6 (dimethyl-d6) acts as a competitive phosphodiesterase inhibitor, which increases intracellular cAMP, activates PKA, inhibits TNF-α and leukotriene synthesis. Also 1,7-Dimethylxanthine-d6 (dimethyl-d6) acts as a Na+/K+ ATPase enzymatic effector.
