1-[2-Amino-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]cyclohexanol is an intermediate in the synthesis of N,O-Didesmethylvenlafaxine and a metabolite of Venlafaxine. It is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that affects mood due to increased levels of serotonin and norepinephrine. It has also been found to increase levels of dopamine, which can lead to improved motivation and focus. In addition, 1-[2-Amino-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]cyclohexanol can reduce levels of cortisol, a hormone associated with stress and anxiety.
