1,2,3,4-Tetramethoxybenzene, known as TMOB, is a highly versatile organic compound with a wide range of applications in organic chemistry and biochemistry. It is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) used as a substrate in enzyme assays, as a reagent in organic reactions, and as a tool to study the structure and function of proteins. It has been found to inhibit the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes. In addition, 1,2,3,4-Tetramethoxybenzene can bind to proteins and enzymes, alter the conformation of proteins and enzymes, and modulate the activity of enzymes.
