USP14 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects USP14 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). USP14, also known as ubiquitin specific peptidase 14, is a crucial cytoplasmic protein that plays a significant role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for regulating protein degradation and maintaining cellular homeostasis. USP14 exists as a homodimer and functions primarily to remove ubiquitin moieties from ubiquitin-conjugated proteins, thereby preventing their degradation by the proteasome. USP14′s ability to rescue proteins from degradation is vital for various cellular processes, including signal transduction and transcriptional regulation, which are critical for normal cell function and development. Notably, defects in USP14 can lead to severe developmental issues, such as retarded growth or fetal death in mice, underscoring USP14′s importance in early developmental stages. Additionally, USP14 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in multiple isoforms that may have distinct regulatory roles, further highlighting USP14′s complexity and significance in cellular biology. Anti-USP14 antibody (C-5) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricacies of protein regulation and degradation pathways.
