Taxol Antibody (69E4A8E) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Taxol protein in non-species reactive applications by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Taxol antibody (69E4A8E) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Taxol, also known as Paclitaxel, is a potent mitotic inhibitor derived from the bark of the Pacific yew tree (Taxus brevifolia) and plays a crucial role in cancer therapy, particularly for ovarian, lung, breast, prostate, head and neck cancers, among others. Taxol′s primary function is to disrupt normal microtubule dynamics during cell division, which is essential for halting the proliferation of cancer cells. Specifically, Taxol binds to β-tubulin, promoting microtubule polymerization and stabilization, leading to G2/M phase arrest and triggering apoptosis in malignant cells. However, Taxol′s therapeutic efficacy is often compromised by the development of drug resistance and significant side effects, including peripheral neurotoxicity, which affects large myelinated nerve fibers and can result in debilitating motor and sensory dysfunction. Taxol monoclonal antibody (69E4A8E) allows researchers to further investigate the mechanisms of action and resistance associated with this important chemotherapeutic agent, facilitating advancements in cancer treatment strategies.
