SLC19A1 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SLC19A1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SLC19A1 antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLC19A1, also known as solute carrier family 19 member 1, reduced folate carrier protein (RFC-1), folate transporter 1, placental folate transporter (FOLT), or intestinal folate carrier (IFC-1), is a multi-pass membrane protein primarily located in the liver and placenta, where SLC19A1 plays a crucial role in the transport of folate and its derivatives into cells. SLC19A1 is essential for cellular folate homeostasis, which is vital for DNA synthesis and repair, as well as for the production of red blood cells. SLC19A1 is heavily glycosylated, which is important for stability and function as a transporter. Additionally, SLC19A1 mediates the uptake of methotrexate, an antifolate drug that mimics natural folates, thereby inhibiting critical cellular biosynthetic pathways and making SLC19A1 a key target in cancer therapy and immunosuppression.
