NCKX5 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the NCKX5 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NCKX5 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NCKX5, also known as JSX, SHEP4, or SLC24A5, is a 500 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a vital role in the transport of ions across cellular membranes, specifically functioning as a potassium-dependent sodium/calcium exchanger. NCKX5 is predominantly expressed in the skin, retinal epithelium, and brain, where NCKX5 is crucial for maintaining intracellular calcium homeostasis and modulating electrical conduction. Notably, NCKX5 is involved in skin pigmentation, as NCKX5 participates in ion transport within melanosomes, which are organelles responsible for the synthesis and storage of melanin. Proper functioning of NCKX5 is essential for various physiological processes, and NCKX5 dysregulation may contribute to pigmentation disorders, highlighting the importance of this protein in both health and disease.
