MBD1 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MBD1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MBD1, or methyl-CpG binding protein 1, plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression by binding to methylated DNA, particularly at methyl-CpG sites, which are often found in gene promoter regions. This binding is essential for mediating transcriptional repression, a process vital for normal cellular function and development. MBD1′s ability to interact with other proteins, such as histone deacetylases, further underscores MBD1′s importance in chromatin remodeling and gene silencing. Expression of MBD1 is notably high in somatic tissues, where MBD1 contributes to the maintenance of cellular identity and function by regulating gene transcription in response to DNA methylation changes. Anti-MBD1 antibody (A-5) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying epigenetic regulation and its implications in various biological processes and diseases.
