group XIIA sPLA2 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects group XIIA sPLA2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-group XIIA sPLA2 antibody (E-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Group XIIA sPLA2, also referred to as GXII, ROSSY, PLA2G12, or PLA2G12A, is a 189 amino acid secreted protein that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by hydrolyzing phospholipids to release arachidonic acid, a precursor for eicosanoid synthesis. This process is vital for various physiological functions, including inflammation and cell signaling, as eicosanoids are involved in mediating inflammatory responses and other critical biological activities. Group XIIA sPLA2 is distinct from other secreted phospholipases A2 due to relatively low specific activity and unique structural characteristics, which contribute to specific physiological roles. Group XIIA sPLA2 is predominantly expressed in the cytoplasm of tissues such as the heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, liver, and pancreas, highlighting importance in metabolic processes across different organ systems.
