Enalapril-d5 Maleate Salt is a compound that functions as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor in experimental applications. It acts by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, thereby reducing the production of aldosterone. This ultimately leads to vasodilation and decreased sodium reabsorption, resulting in decreased blood pressure. At the molecular level, Enalapril-d5 Maleate Salt binds to the active site of ACE.
