DUSP18 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects DUSP18 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DUSP18 (E-2) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. DUSP18, also known as dual specificity protein phosphatase 18 or low molecular weight dual specificity phosphatase 20, is a critical enzyme composed of 188 amino acids that plays a vital role in cellular signaling by dephosphorylating both phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues within mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases. This dual specificity is essential for the regulation of MAP kinase pathways, which are involved in various cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, and stress responses. The expression of DUSP18 is induced by various growth factors and cellular stresses, allowing DUSP18 to negatively regulate key MAP kinase superfamily members, including MAPK/ERK, SAPK/JNK, and p38, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis. DUSP18 exhibits optimal enzymatic activity at a pH of 6.0 and a temperature of 55 degrees Celsius, with the highest expression levels found in the testis, brain, ovary, and liver. Notably, DUSP18 is inhibited by iodoarectic acid and activated by manganese ions, highlighting complex regulatory mechanisms. Additionally, DUSP18 demonstrates a preferential activity against phosphorylated tyrosine residues compared to threonine residues, further emphasizing specificity in cellular signaling pathways.
