PRELI Antibody (QF-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PRELI in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRELI, also known as PRELID1, is a 219 amino acid mitochondrial protein encoded within a conserved gene cluster that includes IκB-α and Rab 24. PRELI plays a crucial role in the development of immunocompetent organs, as PRELI is highly expressed in fetal liver, a primary site for B cell lymphopoiesis, and PRELI expression significantly decreases during maturation, shifting to predominant levels in the brain, lymph nodes, peripheral blood leukocytes, and spleen. The expression pattern of PRELI suggests PRELI′s importance in immune system development and function. Notably, PRELI contains a late embryogenesis abundant (LEA) motif, which is typically associated with plant proteins, indicating a potential evolutionary link between plants and animals. Additionally, the N-terminal region of PRELI features a 170 amino acid PRELI/MSF1 domain, which may be involved in interactions with cellular membranes, further underscoring PRELI′s significance in cellular processes. With diverse applications and critical role in immunology, anti-PRELI antibody (QF-7) is an essential tool for researchers studying immune system development and function.

Can sc-100817: PRELI (QF-7) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100817: PRELI (QF-7) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
