NASP Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects NASP in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NASP, or nuclear autoantigenic sperm protein, is a 788 amino acid protein that plays a critical role in the transport of histones to the nucleus, which is essential for proper nucleosome assembly and subsequent DNA replication. NASP is localized in both the nucleus and the cytoplasm and features three tetratricopeptide repeats, which are important for protein-protein interactions. NASP is expressed in multiple alternatively spliced isoforms, including a testis- and sperm-specific variant (tNASP) and a somatic cell variant (sNASP). As a histone H1 binding protein, NASP is vital for mediating histone transport, thereby ensuring normal cell cycle progression and cellular proliferation.
