KCNE3 Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KCNE3 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KCNE3 Antibody (G-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KCNE3, also known as potassium voltage-gated channel, Isk-related family, member 3, plays a crucial role in regulating voltage-gated potassium channels, which are essential for maintaining electrical excitability of neurons and muscle cells. This single-pass type I membrane protein, consisting of 103 amino acids, is predominantly expressed in kidney and is also found in moderate levels in small intestine. KCNE3 associates with voltage-gated potassium channel complexes, influencing their stability and gating kinetics, which is vital for proper cellular function and signaling. The gene encoding KCNE3 is located on human chromosome 11q13.4, and mutations in this gene are linked to several autosomal dominant disorders, including hypokalemic periodic paralysis, thyrotoxic periodic paralysis type 1, and Brugada syndrome type 6, highlighting KCNE3′s importance in both health and disease.

what is the expected molecular weight of the band for this antibody? your example blots show bands at ~30 kD on one blot, ~34 kD on a second blot, and a doublet at ~25 and ~35 on a third blot. You don't give information on where those blots come from.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393841 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
