SEE ALSO...

I-FABP Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects intestinal fatty acid-binding protein (I-FABP) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). I-FABP plays a crucial role in the absorption and transport of fatty acids within the epithelial cells of the small intestine, which is vital for maintaining lipid homeostasis and energy balance in the body. I-FABP is predominantly expressed in the cytoplasm of enterocytes, where I-FABP facilitates the uptake of dietary fatty acids and their subsequent transport to various cellular compartments for metabolism or storage. I-FABP localization in the intestinal epithelium underscores I-FABP′s importance in nutrient absorption and metabolic regulation, particularly in the context of high-fat diets or metabolic disorders. Additionally, the human I-FABP gene is located on chromosome 4q26 and exhibits a polymorphism at codon 54, which results in two alleles: one encoding alanine and the other encoding threonine. The threonine variant at this position has been linked to enhanced fat oxidation and insulin resistance, highlighting I-FABP′s potential role in metabolic diseases. Anti-I-FABP antibody (G-5) is an essential tool for researchers investigating lipid metabolism, intestinal health, and related metabolic disorders.
