FKBP12 Antibody (H-5) is a high quality monoclonal FKBP12 antibody (also designated 12 KDa FK506-Binding Protein antibody, FKBP Prolyl Isomerase 1A antibody, FKBP-12 antibody, Peptidyl-Prolyl Cis-Trans Isomerase FKBP1A antibody, PPIASE antibody, Immunophilin FKBP12 antibody, Calstabin-1 antibody, Rotamase antibody, 12 KDa FKBP antibody, FKBP-1A antibody, FKBP-1B antibody, Protein Kinase C Inhibitor 2 antibody, or PKC12 antibody) suitable for the detection of the FKBP12 protein of mouse, rat and human origin. FKBP12 Antibody (H-5) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-FKBP12 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-FKBP12 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Immunophilins are a highly conserved family of cis-trans peptidyl-prolyl isomerases which bind to and mediate the effects of immunosuppressive drugs such as Cyclosporin, FK506 and Rapamycin. The prototypic member of the family, FKBP12, was originally identified as a target of FK506 and Rapamycin activity. FKBP12 is an abundant, evolutionarily conserved cytoplasmic protein. Although the molecular role of FKBP12 activity is not well understood, the protein has been implicated as a regulator of diverse array of cellular processes including T cell activation, entry into the cell cycle and intracellular calcium release. Interestingly, FKBP12 has been shown to associate with the intracellular cytoplasmic domain of the type I TGFβ receptor. This association is constitutive and not dependent on the activation of the receptor.
