    Cytokeratin 8 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Cytokeratin 8 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cytokeratin 8 is a vital component of the cytoskeleton in epithelial cells, playing a crucial role in maintaining cellular integrity and providing mechanical support. Anti-Cytokeratin 8 antibody (A-9) expression is particularly significant in simple epithelia, where Cytokeratin 8 pairs with Cytokeratin 18, and serves as a marker for tissue differentiation. Notably, abnormal Cytokeratin 8 expression in squamous cell carcinomas derived from stratified epithelia raises questions about Cytokeratin 8′s potential role in tumorigenesis. Research has shown that Cytokeratin 8 presence in oral squamous cell carcinomas serves as an independent prognostic marker, indicating a poor prognosis for patients. Furthermore, Cytokeratin 8 has been identified to possess extracellular epitopes on tumor cells, which may offer promising targets for therapeutic interventions. Cytokeratin 8 monoclonal antibody (A-9) versatility in various applications makes anti-Cytokeratin 8 antibody (A-9) an essential tool for researchers studying epithelial cell biology and cancer pathology.

    Thank you for your question. Yes, Cytokeratin 8 (A-9): sc-374275 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.     Dear Santa Cruz Tech, we would like to know if you could provide the specific epitope of your sc-374275, sc-374274 and sc-374027, which we could like to use as for the ELISA, and if there is any literature supporting those above keratin 8 mAbs? Thanks

    Thank you for your question. The three monoclonal antibodies that you are inquiring about (sc-374275, sc-374274 and sc-374027) are all raised against the same recombinant protein immunogen, corresponding to amino acids 11-50 mapping near the N-terminus of Cytokeratin 8 of human origin. The exact epitope recognized by each of the different clones has not been determined. We are aware of a product citation in the literature for one of the antibodies, Cytokeratin 8 (E-12): sc-374274.
