VZV NC Antibody (0371) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the VZV NC protein of Varicella Zoster Virus origin by immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-VZV NC antibody (0371) is available as the non-conjugated format. Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) is a prevalent human alphaherpesvirus responsible for two significant diseases: childhood chickenpox (varicella) and shingles (zoster). The VZV NC protein, encoded by VZV gene 40, plays a crucial role in the virus′s life cycle by forming the nucleocapsid, which is essential for protecting the viral genome and facilitating delivery into host cells. VZV NC protein′s structure comprises an icosahedral arrangement that enhances viral particle stability, allowing for efficient infection and replication within the host. VZV NC protein is instrumental in eliciting a humoral immune response, which is critical for the host′s defense against the virus. Understanding VZV NC protein function and structure is important for developing therapeutic strategies and vaccines aimed at controlling VZV infections.
